How do I calculate the profit from my investment [duplicate]

I am new to Bitcoin. I have a very basic knowledge of Bitcoin. I didn't understand how its price is determined. I will give you an example below, correct me, do I have the correct knowledge.

Example: I bought I gold coin of 30,000 rs in 2016. In 2017 the price of gold coin rises to 40,000 rs because of it's huge demand then in 2017 I sell that coin in 40,000 rs to have a profit of 10,000rs. Is this profit contains interest or this is just a normal profit.

Do this example is correct. Please correct me if I am wrong in any part. I had seen a lots of videos and read most of the answers but still I am not getting it.
