How come other crypto-currency affected by Bitcoin?

How come other crypto-currency affected by Bitcoin?

I'm a newbie to the crypto-currency world. I've seen a massive growth in BTC from last year December to this December, and over the last few days the massive drop. something i cannot understand is why other currencies effected by the BTC drop? Cryptocurrency Market Capitalizations shows almost all other cryptos have dipped and only two Agoras Tokens, SuperNET seems increased in value by over 50% ?? Is this a result of market manipulation?
