First time purchase, unconfirmed. Help me understand please

I hope someone will help clarify. I can't tell exactly what stage I'm at.

Can't remember my exact priority but was about 5 bucks USD fee and 3 hours approximately. I did this at 10pm EST December 19 and at 7:49am EST December 20 my wallet shows the transaction commencing but unconfirmed. I'm uncertain if it's confirming now or I am still waiting for it to even send?

I'm fairly technical but new to this.
