BTC transation linkability?

BTC transation linkability?

I acquired BTC using an anonymous alias via the BTC donations address on my onion website. If I then purchased a 1-year subscription to a VPN service (using this BTC), and connect to the VPN server using my home IP address, how might I be de-anonmyized? If the VPN service was a government honeypot or regularly shares customer details with governments, could they easily connect the anonymous BTC to the VPN customer? If the VPN service is NOT a honeypot and does NOT share info with 3rd parties, is it reasonably safe to make the yearly subscription purchase?

I don't care that my ISP or anyone else can see that I'm using a particular VPN service. I'm just not sure how simple it would be for someone to connect those dots.
