What are the legal ramifications of being a financial cryptocurrency adviser?

I want to start a business where I help people get setup to invest in cryptocurrency. I know that a traditional financial adviser needs to take a test and be licenced with the state they are located in. Does anyone do this for a living that they could share what they had to go through?
